The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health, with 1,000+ staff working in over 100 countries. The School's mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.

The London School has a longstanding interest in NTDs. The Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases houses one of the largest research groups in the world working on trachoma, and active research groups working on schistosomiasis, STH, African trypanosomiasis, Chagas Disease, leprosy and leishmaniasis. The Faculty houses the Global Atlas of Helminth Infections (GAHI), whose support of national disease control programmes includes the production and dissemination of maps that show the spatial distribution of helminthic NTDs.
