Interests:
Dr. Le Rutte is a veterinarian with a PhD in tropical infectious disease control. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Public Health of the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam the Netherlands and is part of the NTD Modelling Consortium. She uses mathematical models to capture the transmission dynamics of visceral leishmaniasis and compare the impact of varying strategies to control and eliminate the disease.
Previous modelling experience:
Modelling has been performed in:
Africa, Asia, Europe, South America
Interested in scoping existing and potential capabilities:
Visceral leishmaniasis, Cutaneous leishmaniasis, Other
Other capacities:
Leprosy, American trypanosomiasis (Chagas), Human African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness), Visceral leishmaniasis
Modelling experience:
Epidemiology and statistics, Transmission dynamics
Methodologies:
Differential equation models, Stochastic compartmental models, Individual-based models (including agent-based models)
